A lot to be thankful for

This month I celebrated 41 years of breast cancer free life! That is a milestone no matter how you look at it. I have never met anyone who has actually survived cancer at an early age and is still here to talk about it. I encourage all my friends to remember to do your breast self-exam and have your mamogram. Right now I have three friends who have concluded their treatment or are undergoing treatment - the statistics state 1 in 8, 3 sure seems like a whole bunch and reminds me of how diligent we must be to eradicate the disease and how important it is for us to stay on top of our health. We cannot ignore anything, don't worry about being called a hypochondriac, when your body is telling you something, listen and take heed.

I am so happy I am hear to share my insights on where to go and what to do in South Florida and beyond. I welcome your feedback, please write me at Robbie@GoToRobbieBell.Info if you want to know where to go and what to do when it comes to food, shopping and things to do.

I encourage you to do a little non-traditional shopping this year; if you are hard pressed to think of a gift for a special friend, buy them a membership to one of our local museums (Miami Art Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, Children's Museum, Museums of Science are just a few); a general membership is typically under $50.00 and they will have a year of activities to choose from that will them busy; this is sort of the gift that keeps on giving. Don't forget there is the fabulous Jazz Roots series at the Arsht Center; that would make a fabulous gift, so if you are shopping for me, you know what I want, try Sonny Rollins as a hint.

Until next week.

Enjoy life!
Robbie
